One of the most eloquent cultural commentators and one of the Agit Disco selectors has written a review in Freedom 17-1-09
As well as the review of Small Axe he mentions ‘consistent consciousness’ from British hip hop such as Klashnekoff, Jehst and Braintax, and Skinnyman’s 2004 ‘Council Estate of the Mind’ gets a special mention.
I think its important that the British hip hop scene gets more critical attention, gets to be taken seriously. That’s the only way it will grow intellectually.
